RedRover Sales & Marketing Strategy Hits #Refresh With New Logo

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? After eight years (that’s 56 dog-years), RedRover is making another mark in Memphis with a fresh, new look.

The internationally award-winning agency, which began as a two-person shop in Bartlett before joining the Emerge Memphis start-up accelerator program, now has a 16-person pack and a diverse clientele in its target market of mid-size businesses. The new logo, part of this week’s #RoverRefresh campaign, is launched during a year of growth and service-expansion for RedRover.

“As companies grow and evolve, so must their brands,” said Lori Turner-Wilson, RedRover CEO and founder. “This new brand and logo is a true reflection of who we are now and where we are heading.”

In addition to the refreshed look, “notice the addition of a single word in the new logo — ‘strategy,’” continued Turner-Wilson. “This agency is hyper-focused on building strategies, grounded in research, that accomplish growth and measurable results for clients. Our brand now fully encapsulates what we do best.”

Key design aspects of the new look include:

  • The legacy color of “Rover red” is maintained, but paired with a modern, complementary gray that prevents a jarring departure from the past color palette of red and brown.
  • The selected font is characterized by precise lines, rhythmic spacing and a distinct presence.
  • The blend of boldfaced and regular lettering, combined with the company name in capital letters, embodies strength and purpose; together, the elements represent the professionals inside the company.
  • “Rover Dog” — the pup who has personified RedRover since inception — anchors the typography with its strong, encircled placement. Rover Dog is also capable of appearing as a stand-alone image.

The refreshed look is effective today, Wednesday, July 16. Additional pieces of the #RoverRefresh campaign include social media activities that invite the public to participate in the logo launch, as well as a contest for local start-up companies, which will be announced in detail at 2:30 p.m. today.

RedRover is no stranger to branding campaigns. The agency recently won several international awards for the rebrand of the only independently owned cancer clinic in the area. Additionally, RedRover is the sole agency to win the platinum-level award in the 2013 International Summit Awards, in the category of marketing effectiveness (generating measurable client results). That campaign launched a new restaurant concept in Memphis that generated a 46 percent improvement in sales in the six months after the rebrand.
