2017 at RedRover: New Employees, New Clients, New Award and New Treats for Humane Society Pups

Tuesday, May 2, 2017

This year has already been an exciting and productive time at RedRover Sales & Marketing Strategy, the only research- and ROI-based agency in Memphis. During the first quarter, RedRover welcomed new talent to its growing team, gained two national clients in its first expansion outside the Memphis clientele, won a national Telly Award and partnered with the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County in a charitable effort tied to Super Bowl advertising.

New Talent

Will Cook, Catherine Knoll and Tammy Sanders have joined the RedRover pack in recent months. Cook is a creative strategist and comes to RedRover from the Commercial Appeal and Savant Learning Systems. A graduate of the University of Tennessee Martin, Will brings more than 10 years of graphic design experience to the team. Knoll is a 10-year marketing veteran whose focus at RedRover is on digital strategy and campaigns. She comes to RedRover from Mahaffey Fabric Structures and Challenger Corporation, where she held marketing positions with escalating responsibilities at each. Sanders is the most recent addition to the RedRover pack, joining the agency as office manager and overseeing financial, HR and administrative functions for the firm. Sanders has had a successful career in administrative management, improved operations, and even teaching.

In addition to these recent hires, RedRover currently has six positions open, including several new roles that align with the firm's future growth plans.

Client Expansion

Alongside the addition of new talent to the pack, RedRover also acquired its first out-of-market national client as part of a concerted strategy to expand its B2C portfolio. The client, an upscale women’s fashion house, tapped RedRover to distinguish the brand from its competitors and to ignite website traffic to its new e-commerce platform. RedRover drove 65 percent of website activity during the three-month launch campaign. Shortly thereafter, a second out-of-market national company joined the RedRover client roster: a leading manufacturer and distributor of bulk containers and industrial bags for the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. This client has tapped RedRover to develop and execute a research-backed marketing strategy to support the organization's aggressive growth goals.

Telly Awards

Amidst new staff and new clients, RedRover’s work for Memphis International Airport received a Telly Award for the “First Team MEM” video, featuring Memphis Grizzlies star defenseman Tony Allen. Telly Awards honor commercials and video production in a variety of categories. The First Team MEM video was chosen from among more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states.

The video is part of the Airport’s multi-year marketing plan developed by RedRover, under which RedRover brokered the first-ever endorsement deal between an airport and an NBA team and player. The First Team MEM video script was inspired by NBC’s “The Office” and ESPN’s commercials featuring athletes in office workspaces. The video’s goal is to offer a humorous and engaging way to share facts and vision for the Airport’s post-Delta-hub reinvention.

Rover Bowl

The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is also part of RedRover’s 2017 story to date. The Humane Society was the charitable partner associated with Rover Bowl 2017 – the agency’s online competition among advertisers during the biggest football game of the year. Every time a social media user liked, shared, or commented on CEO Lori Turner-Wilson no-holds-barred ratings and critiques of Super Bowl advertising, RedRover donated a treat to the Humane Society dogs. On March 25, RedRover delivered more than 1,000 treats to the Humane Society. RedRover anticipates partnering once again with the Humane Society for the 2018 big game.
